Danny Awabdy is the director of Awacon and the builder responsible for every project it undertakes. He holds a degree in Construction Management (Applied Science) from QUT, NSW Contractor Licence 298157C in his own name and registration as a building practitioner (BUP0001711), and has more than 20 years of experience in residential and commercial construction.

Awacon Constructions Pty Ltd holds NSW Contractor Licence 387802C and is a registered building practitioner (BUP0002718), which allows it to carry out regulated building work on Class 2 apartment buildings. Clients deal with Danny directly from the first site inspection through to handover, and he supervises the work on site throughout.

Awacon works with homeowners, apartment owners and owners corporations across Sydney on projects that call for a licensed builder rather than a renovation contractor. Typical commissions include the structural reconfiguration of established homes, extensions and second storey additions, the renovation of apartments in strata buildings and the construction of new houses, duplexes and townhouses.

Houses and apartments carry different obligations. A house project may involve structural engineering, a development application or complying development certificate and coordination with neighbours, while apartment work requires strata approval, compliance with the building by-laws and, for Class 2 buildings, the design and building practitioner requirements that apply in New South Wales. Awacon manages these requirements as part of the project rather than leaving them to the client.

Each project is planned in detail before work begins, with a written fixed price quotation and a clearly defined scope of works. Danny coordinates the engineers, certifiers and licensed trades involved and supervises the work on site, so there is a single point of accountability from the first consultation to handover.
